Desert Bighorn Sheep Hunts

Dominguez Outfitters offers guided Desert Bighorn Sheep hunts in GMU 62. These hunts are limited and dependent on drawing a Colorado Parks & Wildlife license.

What to Expect

Sheep hunts are physically demanding and involve long days of hiking and glassing in steep terrain. Hunters should be prepared for elevation changes and extended time in the field.

This hunt is close to town therefore, lodging accommodations are not provided.

Licensing & Physical Requirements

Valid Colorado elk license required
Hunter safety certificate required if born after Jan 1, 1949
Good physical condition expected due to elevation and terrain

Hunting Areas

Our primary hunting areas are located in the north end of GMU 61 (Trophy Unit) and GMU 62, within the Uncompahgre National Forest of Western Colorado.

This country offers a mix of oak brush, aspen, and rugged terrain, providing excellent habitat for big-game species and a true Western hunting experience — all on public land.

Seasons & Licensing

All hunting seasons, license pricing, and draw deadlines are set by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Unit-specific regulations and draw requirements apply, particularly in GMU 61.
